Of Journalists and hidden principles

I happen to peek on some bus dude's newspaper. Well, same old local news. Barely any coverage on outside news. Well, I can't blame them. It is a tabloid, after all. However, I quite fancy how the writers (and possibly editors) write the stories.

Okay, first off. It's too exaggerated. I don't know if it's Filipino nature to exaggerate stuff. Basically, it's either too exaggerated, or the description is too vivid that it kinda cross the boundary of exaggeration. Which leads me to another intrusive thought. "How come these news are (almost) always biased?" I mean, seriously, It's like a fairy tale. The bad guys are labeled 'bad guys', No defense for them whatsoever.

For one, I don't really care about bitches fighting. It's a cliché. However, what piques me is how editors seem to sway for that bitch who is apparently weaker than the other bitch. It's like they're trying to hide some details that might give defense to others.

Or maybe there's something else.. Or I dunno. Newspaper didn't exist to debate with readers. That's why we have blogs...

Mouse revenge

I'm always curious about this topic.
Do mice have the psychological capability to exact revenge?
Because I always hear in my relatives (palibhasa probinsyana mga un) that mice fight back when you kill their youngs.
Anyway... Here are the points to ponder:

Point 1: Mice are smaller than us
Yeah, sure, mice are small, and so are ants. Ever wonder what animals do when you provoke them. They either escape or attack. But, yeah, most likely they attack back.

Point 2: Mice are animals
And as animals, they are still capable of decision, primitive or not. Actually, screw that. They have a primitive decisive ability (which is, 'do anything to survive'). However, revenge isn't actually a primordial attitude, except for a few animals which have the mental ability to recall who to exact revenge to (like elephants). Yet, a mouse eating your dresses because you threw away their kids isn't really that... primitive. It's actually devious in a human sense.

Point 3: Why the clothes?
Why eat our clothes when they can do other more hideous manners of revenge? Why not steal our year's supply of potato chips, or pee on our nose while we're sleeping? Why the goddamn clothes? Oh yah, not only clothes. They always eat anything we are too lazy to check regularly. What, do they know that we always check this cabinet and stuff? Mice don't have the mental ability to remember stuffs like that, though they can recall something like that through externally acting stimulus, but that's a different story.

Point 4: They still eat my poison-filled peanut butter sandwich.
Yet, even though they ate my entire dresser, they still eat the same trap. We can therefore conclude that they're too stupid to conduct a revenge act like that.

But wait, how come they always eat up the clothes of the people that threw out their kids?
All I can tell is that, It's a freaking coincidence.

Point 5: Though they are animal, they still have emotions.
It's not that exaggerated like a human's, though. Though they express it by constantly chewing off the items which contained the scent of the one they last smelled, which, also by coincidence, the one that threw out their kids.

Something's bugging me at point 5, though. There's something wrong with that analysis...

* the word 'eat' here does not necessarily mean 'consume'. It's more like 'chew' or 'gnaw'

magazine controversy

I've heard a talk about a girl naked with a flag painted in her body..
Well, it's not a big deal to me, but it seems that it seems controversial since Philippines has a law that forbids the use of flag other than as a flag.

There are actually 2 sides of controversy here. One is that is it right to print a naked girl in the front cover. Well, answer is no. Even the international Playboy Magazine don't do that. I mean, the girl is butt-ass naked (except for the part that her privies are painted, but still naked). Especially here in the Philippines, printing contents like that is practically illegal.

Second is that the Philippine flag is painted on a naked body. The Philippines, just like some tight oriental countries near us, is tight on using the flag. Law says that the flag is to be used as flag only. No marketing scheme, no dress, no undies, just as a flag. Anyone who is caught not following this is fined or jailed. Yes, that is patriotism. Yet, this magazine painted the entire flag on a body (which is, btw, so hot). lol. ok. enough segue.

OK my opinion in here is that I'm neutral in this topic. (yea, f*** me)
We can't say it's an art form. I mean, the shot and pose is done artistically, it IS art, but it's not art in the eyes of (normal) Filipinos.
I mean, my point is that we look at this topic differently. (Normal) Filipino sees this as offensive. Some sees this as an art form. Some see it as hot. Government sees this as way to make money (lol). I know, we can't just post something like this here. Like. We can go to other country and we can use the flag to wipe our butt. But we won't. It's called patriotism. We see ways to be proud of the country. Other countries use it for some things. Dress, shoes, blouse, undies, cars. They do that because they are proud of it (or a marketing scheme (or both)). It's different here. So as in Japan.

this is not offensive (for me). Actually I see this as hot. Yet I don't. I'm neutral. I'm barely legal.
